DV Group began as a small general store and oil dealership started by Mr. Ram Ratan Shah in Janakpur, Nepal in the late 1970s. His son, Mr. Vishwanath, later took over and founded Shah Enterprises in 1982, trading textile threads and consumer goods.
In the early 1990s, he launched Pooja Hair Oil and renamed the business Vishwanath & Sons. The company grew rapidly after securing Nepal’s first exclusive chewing tobacco distributorship, followed by exclusive deals for brands like Ayur Herbals, Rajnigandha, Nippo Batteries, PepsiCo, Haldiram’s, Hindustan Pencils, and more. In 1997, it entered manufacturing with laundry detergent.
Today, DV Group operates in FMCG trading, manufacturing, supermarkets/retail, education, hospitality, food & beverage, media, and agriculture — with dedicated teams in each area.
